American Horror Story: Coven - Staircase Teaser

FX's American Horror Story: Coven has just released another TV spot for the upcoming season 3. The TV spot is short and creepy which is what we have come to like about American Horror Story in the first place. A suspended woman has been done a million times in horror but this is a true original sense to the usual. Season 3 premieres this upcoming October 9, 2013 and stars Frances Conroy, Taissa Farmiga, Jessica Lange…

Vampire Academy: Blood Sisters (2014)

Vampire Academy: Blood Sisters is looking pretty good so far and not like the boring first movie from The Twilight Saga. I am stoked to see this vampire movie play out because I never read the vampire novels. From the trailer I see that the vampires are all known and very open. The teen vampires feed on the human students like midnight snacks which is kind of funny. Check out the vampire trailer for yourself…

The Vampire Diaries Season 5 - Zach Roerig (Matt) Interview

Zach Roerig (Matt) sits down to talk about what's new for his character Matt in The Vampire Diaries Season 5. Season 5 premieres this upcoming October 3, 2013 on The CW. I didn't really think Matt's character was interesting at all but it sounds like his character will be much more interesting and may even come in handy in the supernatural fights with vampires and other creatures. The CW's #1 series returns October 3rd for…

Shortcuts to Hell (2013)

The UK's Shortcuts to Hell is comprised of 26 short films. Yes it is similar to what The ABC's of Death horror anthology pulled off recently. The trailer looks awesome in what the new directors did with their small budgets. I for one think that some of the short films in The ABC's of Death was a little crappy or overly perverted but some were real gems. The same for VHS, some were good and…

The Walking Dead: A Hardcore Parody (2013)

The Walking Dead: A Hardcore Parody says it's a parody but I do not see anything funny besides bad acting. I normally do not post things like this but I thought people should know that even the other industry is cashing in on zombies and horror. The below trailer is safe to watch but showcases crap for the full length 2 hour and 10 minute feature film. I am not knocking their effort or the…

Horror Videos
Horror videos and movies have grown to become the longest-lasting movie genre in history. Horror videos are intended to elicit a feeling of dread, fear, or dismay. Expect the unexpected and count on an intense atmosphere that grows at a face pace. Horror videos often lull you into a sense of tranquility then suddenly create a menacing effect that jolts you out of your comfort zone. They can leave you with a vague ending, so you have the sense that the menace still remains, which is the perfect set up for a sequel. The two main subjects of horror videos are supernatural beings (vampires, phantoms, demons, etc.) or real situations and figures (serial killers, medical tragedies, etc.).

Scary Videos and Why We Love Them
The appeal of scary videos has grown over the years and with the new crop of films, such as Saw, The Strangers, Session 9, and Wes Craven's New Nightmare, the definition of horror has also evolved. These movies display more explicit gore, jump scenes, scares, and supernatural content than ever before.

But why do we love these scary videos? These movies allow us to confront our most primal fears, all in the comfort of our own home. Scary videos are terrifying, exciting, fascinating, and thrilling. The musical score adds tension, builds suspense, then releases it for a roller coaster ride our nerves love. Scary videos appeal to the basic human condition and to our attempts to overcome our fear. No matter why you love scary videos, one fact remains - we can't wait to watch the next one.
