While "The Last Man on Earth" is a fine Vincent Price vampire film, I wish to focus particularly on this 1959, black-and-white version of "House on Haunted Hill". First, this is the version that you want, especially if you have a widescreen television. Many other DVD releases have been "panned and scanned" to facilitate the full-screen aspect, (which cuts off the left and right sides of the film and renders a blurrier negative). Like most of Al Adamson's films, Horror of the Blood Monsters appeals to that small group of weirdos who seem to be gluttons for punishment. The 1980s had a lot of supernatural comedies, and "Hocus Pocus" is one of the flimsier examples of the genre. While the script is about as lackluster as it comes, the actors keep up a pretty steady stream of pyrotechnic wire-fu and slapstick prankery.
