Final Destination/Final Destination 2
(2005)
While hardly a spiritual upgrade of the slasher film, this high-concept teen body-count thriller drops hints of The Sixth Sense into the smart-aleck sensibility of Scream. Helmed by X-Files veteran James Wong, who cowrote the screenplay with longtime creative partner Glen Morgan, Final Destination is an often entertaining thriller marked by an unsettling sense of unease and scenes of eerie imagery. It suffers, however, from a schizophrenic tone and a frankly ludicrous premise. A high school Cassandra,…

Lycanthropia' is the study of werewolves. The Snowman (Point Horror)
In my preteens R.L. Stine was probably the one author that monopolized my bookshelf. His `Goosebumps' series was a big hit among the kids my age and we all would sit around and trade books until we had all read every book he'd written in the series. Once that was accomplished we all wanted more, something with more teeth and luckily for us Stine had also written a series of books for the teen reader, books with a little more edge and some more realistic fears. `The Snowman' was the…

Body Puzzle
(2003)
The really good news about this dvd is that it is in reality widescreen. For some reason the box says it's the dreaded full screen or pan and scan format in which one third of the movie is chopped off to fit your old tube screen size. This is widescreen though and so you get the whole picture as it was shot in 1991. The film itself is a pretty good thriller with a interesting twist at the end. Unlike many giallos you actually see the killers face as he kills his victims and not just a pair…
