Luisa Cantu is a girl from a Sierra Madre mountain village. After being impregnated in a fertility ritual of ancient ofigin, she leaves Mexico to work in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas as a housemaid for Mrs. Eddie Hatch, a woman with a strong will and a narrow worldview. Their complex relationship-by turns mystical and pragmnatic, serious and comic-reveals the many ways human beings can wound one another, the nautre of love and sacrifice, and the possibility of forgiveness.

Katana master Tao (Steven Seagal) leads a special ops squad of ex-military vigilantes on a massacre mission, their target: vampires. On the post apocalyptic globe, sucked dry by bloodthirsty vampires, a few remaining survivors are trapped in an infected hospital. Tao is their only hope and he knows the only cure is execution. Now it's time for the last stand against the flesh-eating vampires and there's nothing left to lose but the last of humanity.

Don't expect what you see on the DVD cover - in fact, the crazed woman in the doorway does not even appear in the film. It appears that this DVD is being marketed to those expecting a "cheesy" horror film (one filled with laughs, mostly unintentional) but in fact, this movie is a typical low budget 80s slasher, and not a bad one at all. Just a warning to those expecting a funny horror movie - this is not one of those at all.

Originally released via Continental Video in the 1980s in the big box casing, this is a early slaser released the same year as Halloween, This doesnt come close to the tension and atmosphere that Carpetners film has but its definately a cut above the typical slasher.
