I've always been a fan of Caroline B. Cooney but this comes across as a quick "filler" book....almost like she had to make some quota and had a week to come out with a book. I liked the beginning, but after Mary Lee went back home it came across as really rushed. The build-up to how evil Madrigal and John Pear were was very anti-climactic.
