Gareth Evans The Raid 2 (2014) looks awesome and will release in the US March 28, 2014. Some are calling The Raid 2 “one of the greatest action movies ever”. Check out the new movie poster below. Iko Uwais (The Raid), Julie Estelle (Macabre), Alex Abbad (Merantau), Marsha Timothy (The Forbidden Door), Mathias Muchus, and Cecep Arif Rahman star.
The App (2014) is latest in horror movie innovation where it is smartphone driven. This dutch horror movie makes your smartphone the villain as the app looks to do hellish things to Anna, talk about ghost in the machine. I really like the plot and premise of the horror film and hope that it is executed well. Look for more info soon. The App is directed by Isak Borg and Dena Hysell.
Godzilla (1954) is about to get re-released into US theaters which also helps build momentum for the Godzilla (2014) release May 16, 2014. The new poster looks great with higher resolution and better quality. This will be the 60th Anniversary Restoration of the japanese original Godzilla.
Scream Factory released the news that they will release Lake Placid Collectors Edition this upcoming June 2014. We also have the new blu-ray cover art which is not all that appealing but has a great twisted play on words. “Have a Relaxing Vacation at… Lake Placid. You’ll never know what bit you.” Steve Miner directed this funny creature feature and Bridget Fonda, Bill Pullman and Oliver Platt starred.
Irrational Games (BioShock Infinite, BioShock) has had many praises for its BioShock franchise and today we have some sad news, Ken Levine is leaving. Not only is Levine leaving but Irrational Games will let go most of its workforce and leave only 15 employees employed. What does that mean for the BioShock Infinite DLC? The last DLC will roll out as expected so rest assured. If you read in between the lines, Ken Levine wants the freedom to go to the extreme once more with a small team to create more compelling horror sci-fi games and create new worlds to draw gamers in to; I am already sold.
