- Like Carrie before it, Ginger Snaps uses horror-movie conventions as an inspired metaphor for puberty. When beautiful but reclusive goth teenager Ginger (Katharine Isabelle) is attacked by a monstrous wolf on the eve of her first period, her body starts changing in a big way, as do her suddenly lusty, feral appetites. Director John Fawcett masterfully balances the expectations of teen horror exploitation (blood, bodies, sex, smart dialogue, and good old-fashioned monster-movie scares) with clever black humor and tender sisterly solidarity. Only devoted sister Brigitte (gloomy Emily Perkins) knows the truth, and even as Ginger's abrupt transformation threatens their once unbreakable friendship, bonds of blood and love keep them together: Brigitte disposes of Ginger's victims while searching for a cure. Mimi Rogers costars as their dotty but unexpectedly sensitive mom, ready to sacrifice all to protect her daughter. Blood and blood ties have never been more evocative. --Sean Axmaker

this is a really awsom movie i liked it better than stphen king's silver bulletbut ginger snaps 2 is much better than part 1!!! werewolves are COOL!!!!!!

i really didnt like it or never want to see that one again or the 2nd one ever! Definitly not better than silver bullet! nothing can compair to that one! But werewolves r cool!

ginger snaps 1 and 2 or my fave movies, emily perkins is my idol! I loved the movies can't wait to see the third one. oh ya kris lemche is hot!

ginger snaps 1 and 2 are the best horor movies ive ever scene and i cant wait for the third one i just need to buy the 1st and 2nd one .. katherine isabelle and emily perkins are awsome i would love to meet them

i think this movie waas very well done. all the people in this movie fit their rolls very well.evern though i have only seen it twice however i do intend on buyin the movie.

i really liked this film, i have it on dvd and video, im more of a vampire movie person but this was a good film, i loved the begining with the shots of ginger and bridget doing dead scenes, and the tune that plays though the movie is good too :-)

the ginger snaps movies are my fav i love the 2nd one but there all great i thought that the 2nd and the 3rd one were better than the first one but there all awesome my fav part in the first one is when they make all of the dead photos. The 2nd one the best part is when bridgette is in group and tells elinor that her best case sinerrio is elungation of my spine until my skin splits, hair everywear but my eyeballs tets, (i cant remeber this part) a longing and growing affection for feces not just my own and then excertiating death. thats the best part, and my fav part in the 3rd one is when brigette has all of the flass backs and sees the future she looks very cool with the blood and black eyes.

Despite the werewolves, this is really a grim, macabre tale of the affect of murder on women. I found it fascinating how it focuses on the issues of teenage girls(the menstral blood was particularly disturbing). I was touched by just how far their mother would go for them. Few horror films move me, but this one did. It's kind of like Heavenly creatures, but much better in my opinion.

9 because the effects suffered due to low budget. very dark, very goth feeling, very depressing film about coming of age. it is less about werewolves than teenage angst. the second and third films were good, but not in the same league as this. only 3 werewolf films rank above this. guess which...

Emily Perkins is great,I really like her movies.I love her.Ginger snaps 1,2 and 3.I just wanted to know if anyone knew where i can find some good pictures of her,i can't seem to find any good websites.
