Review of Halloween - The Curse of Michael Myers
- For pulse-pounding suspense and relentless thrills, nothing can match HALLOWEEN: THE CURSE OF MICHAEL MYERS -- one of the most frightening chapters in the chilling HALLOWEEN series! In a single horrifying night, Michael Myers' masked reign of terror changed Halloween forever! Now, six years after he was presumed dead in a fire, Myers has returned to kill again -- and this time there's no escape! As the homicidal fury builds to a spine-tingling cliimax, the long-hidden secrets of the screen's most maniacal murderer are revealed ... with shocking results! Starring a thrilling cast including legendary Donald Pleasence (HALLOWEEN, THE ADVOCATE) and Paul Rudd (THE CIDER HOUSE RULES, CLUELESS).
Description
- The series premise continues to stretch so thin it could dissipate. This time, Michael Myers chases his unfortunate niece around, then goes after a family who happen to be living in his former home. This is slasher-ism at its most cynical, and a thoroughly unpleasant, unimaginative, and unredeeming movie. Donald Pleasence, the one holdover from the original film, looks like he'd rather be anywhere than in this thing. --Tom Keogh

Why do people bash this movie???
In my opinion, the cult storyline makes a lot more sense as to why Michael Myers is immortal. In the other films such as parts 1, 2, and H20 they do not mention as to HOW he is. There has to be a reason behind it and just being a psychopath murderer does not make someone impervious to pain and death! I think Tommy Doyle is a cool character. I like very much to see the Producers Cut and hope it is released soon.

YUCK!!!!!!!!!
I went to see this in the theater and after the barn/thresher scene I got up and walked out.
This installment goes to even more gruesome heights then the previous ones.
I did watch it again on video from start to finish and forwarded through the barn scene.
More grossness followed but I'm sort of used to it by now, it does look pretty fake most of the time.
The story line?
What story line?
It turns out the Satanists have been hiding Michael the whole time and unleashing him to commit more murders.
And he turns on them at the end and kills them too. And even the story line is BARELY explained. Probably because the film makers knew the story sucked right from the get go.
HOW LAME!!!!!!!!!!
Satanists???
The sacred name of the original Halloween has been reduced to this nonsense???
Part two was ok, every Halloween after that has been a slap in the face of every fan of the original.
A totally DESPERATE attempt by Hollyweird to make sense of Michael's history.
It fails!!!!!!!!
Miserably!!!!!!!!!!!!
A joke, horrid acting, horrid story, horrid directing, horrid everything!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As bad as Halloween Resurrection was with Busta Rhyme's doing his Karate nonsense.
At least THAT movie gives a somewhat reasonable explanation as to where Michael was during all those years.
Under the original house in the sewers. It's still stupid but it makes more sense than some group of Satanists protecting him.
NOT RECOMMENDED!!!

The Curse of Michael Myers!
I REALLY hate the Thorn curse idea. Just because it's a HALLOWEEN film, I tolerate it. Dr. Loomis is awesome but he doesn't really do much in this one. Jamie Lloyd had a baby and now, Michael wants it, so it's up to Tommy Doyle (of the original) Dr. Loomis, Kara Strode and Danny Strode to stop Michael and protect the baby! Michael's evil should NOT be explained. It should be a mystery, a mystery hidden behind a mask.

Top Shelf
Great addition to the series. Dr. Loomis is still trying to stop the "Evil on 2 Legs".
Much fun.
Also, Paul Rudd...before he was funny.

Collectables
The spooky atmosphere makes these films. I recommend this Film to anyone. My favourite movies are pts 1-5. Pt 1 - 3 brings me back to my youth and the DVD transfers are fine, if you are after something intelligent, this is not for you, for the films are a fun and entertaining session of good-looking horny teens getting slashed. Not great but what the hell its all popcorn stuff anyway. If anyone is interested in Halloween collectables, email taylor5821@hotmail.com
