Hercules and the Princess of Troy/Atlas in the Land of the Cyclops 2006 Horror Movie Review
Horror movies Review
Swords, Sweat, Sandals, and Big Guys in Little Skirts! Inspired by the popularity of sword and sandal films, famed producer Joseph E. Levine and the ABC television network joined forces in 1965 to produce Hercules and the Princess of Troy, a pilot episode for a proposed TV series about the exploits of the mythical strongman (played by prolific actor and occasional Tarzan Gordon Scott). Diana Hyland costars as the beautiful princess of Troy who’s slated for sacrifice to a horrifying sea monster (designed by E.T. creator Carlo Rambaldi) to appease the gods. Also featuring popular Euro-epic stalwarts Gordon Mitchell, Roger Browne and Giorgio Ardisson.
Also included is the musclebound epic Atlas in the Land of the Cyclops with Gordon Mitchell (again) assigned to save the infant descendant of Ulysses from the descendants of Circe the Sorceress and Polyphemus the Cyclops, and Richard Harrison in the extra-brawny bonus feature Giants of Rome from cult director Antonio Margheriti (Castle of Blood). Four hours of pec-pounding excitement!
