Horror motifs are mixed with eroticism and surrealism in The Nude Vampire, the second feature from the innovative French auteur Jean Rollin.
The Nude Vampire is centred on a doctor s obsessive
desire to find immortality by experimenting with
the blood of a female vampire he is holding captive.
However, the doctor s besotted son conspires to
free the incarcerated bloodsucker with disastrous
results. The Nude Vampire offers the viewer an array of voyeuristic images in a beautiful mix of the surreal and the bizarre. A must have for anyone who likes their blood red and preferably from someone else’s
vein.
