Doctor Who: Planet of the Dead 2009 Horror Movie Review
Horror movies Review
I’ve been following Doctor Who since the show was restarted by Russel T. Davies in 2005. Having seen every episode, I can honestly say Planet of the Dead is quite easily the worst of the bunch. The hour running time is too long by at least fifteen minutes. The action is unsuspensful, the story uninteresting and inconsequential and the dialogue is often cringe inducing. I don’t know what is with the Doctor Who writers’ obsession with plucky young women, but they really do need to give it a rest. This time around its Lady Christina de Souza, played by Michelle Ryan whose character here is even more annoying here than in the dreadful Bionic Woman remake. Never for a single moment is Lady Christina (the master cat burglar/Royal) fazed by the fact that she has been transported to another planet. By about her one-hundredth smartass comment, I really wanted someone to slap her silly. Its a good thing Davies will be leaving the series soon as his writing has gone as limp as a week old bag of fish and chips.
