Review of Tales from the Crypt: The Complete Seasons 1-7
- Television viewers got a fright in 1989 when TALES FROM THE CRYPT made the transition from EC comic book to TV show. Hosted by the Cryptkeeper each episode of the show offered a new ghoulish tale for the audience to sink their teeth (or fangs) into. The show originated on HBO and all six episodes from the first season are included here. It was such a success that myriad CRYPT-inspired spinoffs resulted including an animated series several feature films and seemingly infinite merchandising opportunities. A popular favorite among horror-film fans TALES FROM THE CRYPT also appeals to viewers who love the visceral thrill of jumping out of their seats as terrifying scenes unfold in front of them. The first seven seasons of the show are gathered on this collection.Format: DVD MOVIE Genre: TELEVISION/SERIES & SEQUELS Rating: NR UPC: 012569754218 Manufacturer No: 75421

A blast from the past
Watching these shows again, I felt a wave of nostalgia. There was nothing quite like Tales from the Crypt on television in the late 80s/early 90s, and the series still manages to hold its own today. Recommended for fans of horror with a clever comedic twist.

The price is TOO HIGH
If u buy the seasons seperately u save $50.00. Right now in this site all 6 seasons costs $20.00 each and the last season costs $30.00 so the total is around $150.00 which is almost $50.00 less than if u buy this...set. LOL

What You May Already Own
If you're interested in the complete Tales from the Crypt show, you're already versed in what makes it good (or bad). This collection is nothing more than the individual seven boxed sets shrink-wrapped together with a new UPC. You might save some money, but other than that you're getting exactly what someone who collected the series' from the beginning has.
While I enjoy the show quite a bit, I feel somewhat cheated that I waited, and received this slapdash collection, rather than the at least boxed sets for other series (Kids in the Hall being a notable boxed set not differing much from the packages preceeding it, while Twin Peaks' new boxset is stunning).
I'd say five stars for content, four for packaging. Thanks for nothing, Warner Brothers.
