The Midnight Hour 2000 Horror Movie Review
Horror movies Review
The Midnight Hour is a delirously cheesy Halloween themed movie made for television back in the 80’s. While snooping around in a local history museum in search of costumes, a group of friends come across some relics that reactivate an ages old curse that raises the dead. But not all of the living dead have their hearts set on killing. Heavens no, some of them simply want to do the things they didn’t get to do when they were alive, which proves to be a plus for our main hero when his dream girl from the 50’s rises up to be with him for one night.
It’s hard to be too critical of The Midnight Hour due to the inherent limitations of made for television movies, and the fact that it’s obviously geared toward families or even young kids. Also despite the over bearing goofiness and the lack of any real horror, it does have heart, likable characters, and it’s fun. A good piece of Halloween nostalgia for those who grew up in the 80’s, but not exactly essential viewing for horror fans.
