Review of Unreal II: The Awakening
I am sorry to say but this game is pretty much the same exact port of last years PC edition of Unreal II. That doesn’t mean that it is bad, it is still a good game nonetheless but they could have at least put a couple new things in. The game play never gets stale.
The single player mode is decent. The last couple of levels of the campaign are where the single player game really shines. It will leave you with an overall satisfied feeling after your 10-12 hours worth of game time. The multiplayer whether in co-op mode or online mode will keep you hooked for a great deal longer.
The biggest problem however is the weapon switching which is simply awful. At most times you will just fight with whatever you currently have in the heat of battle. Besides this one big complaint, Unreal II is pretty solid.
Of course, Unreal II is not the Halo 2 beater or even a competitor but it should hold you up for a while.
