Developer Ubisoft has done great with this addition to the Prince of Persia series. The game begins by the prince and the king plundering another kingdom. The prince picks up the glowing dagger and releases evil onto the world. The prince must undo this evil that he has unleashed by defeating the evil wizard. The prince can run up walls, climb to higher levels, hang off ledges, engage in incredible fight sequences and can do great back flips. Puzzles are solved using the environments as a means to progress through the story. They are also ever changing and they fit the overall theme perfectly. The prince can manipulate time reducing the speed of game play to slow motion and by rewinding time. The Sands of Time has magnificent visuals which are rich and detailed but still a little eerie. Areas include underground ice caverns, vegetation-heavy courtyards, waterlogged dungeons, interior of the palace...all are absolutely gorgeous. The Sands of Time carries Middle Eastern settings with a contemporary blend. People, this is a must buy, especially for the XBOX and GameCube versions.
