but how would you know what a demonic posession is like if you dont believe it can happen?

I think it can happen cause the Catholic Church has certain measures it takes to either prevent possession, or exorcise a spirit. Ex. a priest blessing a newly made building with holy water. He's not just giving your house a bath. He's trying to ward off any naughty demons that want to pay you a visit. So, in order to have these rituals, and practices, demonic possession must have been an actual *real* problem.

hmm, lets think about this if some one can be possessed then this would lead to people believing that demons exsist which will lead to people thinking that satan (evil) exsist and that will enventually lead to prove that god exsists, personally i like the idea that people are skeptic about demons and possessions because it will mean that religious people have doubt about their faith. also knowning that this particulatr evil exsists might plunge the world in a paranoid fear.
