Ann Rice's "The Vampire Lestat" and "The Queen of the Damned" were excellent reads. The movie tried to do the impossible by cramming everything into one movie. Think if "Lord of the Rings" was made into one movie instead of being split up. Thank God Peter Jackson said NO.:)

Are you intrested in "real" vampires or fictional vampires that in such novels by Anne Rice.

I know a couple of things about "real" vampires, or people in history who were considerd vampires. Such as Elizabeth Bathory and Vlad Dracula. Both of them had quiet the time doing sadistic things. Elizabeth preformed various tortures on her slaves and even noble woman. Vlad Dracula did some crazy things.

It is possible that those vampires in Anne Rice's books are true to the life of an immortal whom can aquire much wealth in time. I am not saying that the rest is true, but it can happen:D All society's are different yet in some aspects the same.

well my favorite vampire novel is Bram Stoker's Dracula I have read it many times. I also love the Ann Rice Vampire Chronicles I have read all of them up till Merrick which I am reading now , it is very good so far, my favorite of her Vamps is Lestat of course. I also enjoyed Stephen Kings Salem's Lot. The vampire movies I own are Bram Stoker's Dracula, Blade 1 & 2, Interview with a Vampire, Queen of the Damned, Jon Carpenter's Vampires and Underworld. I have 4 different model kits from the film version of Bram Stoker's Dracula. The oldman version of Drac, bat Dracula, the wolf version of Drac and the human armored one.

Oh yeah!

I agree "The Vampire Lestat" was a great book, well teh whole series was, except Memnoch the devil, that book was horrible, only because the discussion that went on about god and satan was so boring i wanted some action!

About the wealth, it is possible that once an immortal vampyre gains excess wealth a few options open up

1; hide it, forget where it is, go searching for it, go broke not finding it, realize it was discovored and raided, send out curses to the items in hopes to return them, and utterly in the end have to start over......
2; give it away over a large area to help keep from being noticed
3; have a giant party and blow half of it in one night
4; now days this one is possible, disperse it among various banks as to keep from being noticed.

Remember two things, one, immortal vampyres are very rare, however, you never know when your talking with one
and two, outside of the net, and certain social settings, this is a secrete we usually keep. otherwise just don't care.

Lestat is a a push over, I would rather fight the first vampire, and I wouldn't give a dang if I lived or die, I'd go out with a smile and a snap of my neck

or they would put your mangled carcuss on display for the others (vampire hunters, humans) to see, and make a mental note of anyone who even dares of taking on a vampire.
