Horror books Review
Thanks to the popularity of H.P. Lovecraft, I met the phenomenal works of Mr. Ewers via his short story, The Spider. Thanks to a local “magic shop/ book store” I stumbled upon this title a few years back. The translation is a bit rough, but definitely solid and superbly worthwhile. There really isn’t a bad story in this volume. There is one drawback…I have been met with an insatiable thirst for more and more Ewers, and his work remains very difficult to find. They often come with a lofty price, but always prove worth the trouble. The introduction/ brief bio is a great story in itself. HHE was a gifted storyteller, filmmaker, playwright, and occultist. The world needs to be acclimated to his underrated genius. I would also like to thank all the editors and translators for their hard work in making the few publications available; lovers of imaginative and strange fiction will not be disappointed.
