Killing Your Boss was a great horror serial killer read. The author, James DeSantis did a marvelous job with this short story that had many twists in it. I like how the author describes each character on their own page. James was very descriptive with his writing to the point…
What Hides Within - Jason Parent Horror Book Review
Horror books Review
This book has it all from comedy to horror and is mind boggling which makes it a great horror book to read. What Hides Within is an awesome book to read with some twists to the story which makes you want to keep on reading and has you on the edge of your seat. The author, Jason Parent, did a great job combining horror with comedy and I admire the way he mentions actresses and famous eateries to let the readers know that this is a modern story set in the 20th century so that we can relate first hand. Jason Parent has a dark sense of humor with colorful language that will make you think twice and say “what the .....” The sense of humor in this book may not be for everyone, especially the weak minded because there are some very disturbing, creepy and depressing graphic details in this story which makes it very interesting. What Hides Within is truly unique, original and refreshing in a world where we have so many stereo types.
This story is about an average guy name Clive who doesn’t like his job but he just goes to work for the paycheck. He was hit with a circumstance where he became possessed by an evil spirit in the form of a spider. He felt something was wrong with him and so did everyone else around him so he went to see the doctor which eventually led to a wrong brain surgery. Clive’s other personality Chester/evil spider spirit controls him and makes him into a person that he doesn’t want to be. Clive came from being an ordinary guy to a person that was followed by detective Reilly everywhere he went. This book made me laugh, smile, sad and scared which was amazing to have all these feeling while reading a horror book.
I did not expect the story to end the way it did so I am pretty much looking forward to a second book to read about Victoria and Arachnae. This book left me in suspense and I am grasping for more.
