Horror books Review
This fifth book in the series finds Roland, Eddie, Susannah, Jake, and Oy at a place called Thunderclap just as predicted earlier in the series. King has found a way to outdo his previous books, diving even deeper into the characterization of Roland and his duties as a gunslinger. The Katet encounters a town whose children are kidnapped by wolves and returned to them "roont", or mentally retarded and physically deformed. They agree to help the townspeople stand against the wolves, and eventually discover the sinister reason for the kidnapping of the children. Meanwhile, the gunslingers must also deal with a threat to the Tower in our world as well as Susannah’s deadly secret. The tension is building as the end of this epic tale draws ever closer. Look for Father Callahan from Salems’ Lot as a main (and possibly permanent) character.
