Featured Book Review: Darkbound
Darkbound is an amazing book. Michaelbrent Collings outdid himself with this book. It is not at all what I thought it would be. I took three nights to finish this book because I stayed up way past my bedtime. Darkbound was so suspenseful that I just kept on reading to…
Horror books Review
I liked this book. I would call this a good read however this is really known for the photos. These photos are from original stills in the movies and are really fantastic. Some are supplied by film historian David Del Valle.
The book basically talks about all kinds of horror movies - genre’s within the genre but it all amounts to the same what we’ve read before about horror movies both old and new. It is the usual, giant monsters, slashers, zombies, etc. The author has some good thoughtful insight as to why we like horror & all the variations of horror, but in reality it is the visuals in the book that make this what it is.
Photos include some great shots of Them (giant ants) Haxan, Psycho, King Kong, Squirm , the shot of Kevin Bacon where he gets speared through the neck in Friday the 13th..
There was one flaw with the Godzilla photos referring them as Gojira 1954 photos when they are actually of Godzilla 1985.
As I mentioned this book will be most known for the stills used..there are really some truly great amazing photos used in this book. I can easily recommend this. I think that if you collect movie memorabilia such as photos you will appreciate what this book has to offer
