Author : James DeSantis

Killing Your Boss was a great horror serial killer read. The author, James DeSantis did a marvelous job with this short story that had many twists in it. I like how the author describes each character on their own page. James was very descriptive with his writing to the point…

Ant Farm

Matt is an eleven year old boy who is constantly being   harassed by the neighborhood bully, Joey Sullivan. On his way to school, he   is confronted by Joey and, for once, decides to fight back. As a result, he   is suspended and makes a lifelong enemy. But Matt, unintentionally, is able   to gain revenge when he receives an ant farm as a gift for his birthday.  However, events spiral out of control as he struggles to save his loved   ones.

While at home during his suspension,  Matt becomes obsessed with the colony of ants in his room and begins to see   them as family pets. Out of curiosity, he feeds the insects Pop Rocks to   see how the exploding candy would affect them. The ants become addicted to   the candy and Matt is able to control them by using the treats. Eventually,  the candy causes the ants to grow dangerously large. They also experience a   dramatic increase in brain capacity and develop a loyalty to Matt as their   master.

The ants seek revenge on Matt’s   enemies at any opportunity. Matt realizes that the ants have become   uncontrolable and decides that he must kill them in order to protect his   family. Although they are his pets and his servants, their will to survive   is strong. Will Matt be able to save the neighborhood, his family, and   himself?
