    Good book

The novel "The Way of the Wolf" is the first in a series of books by the author E.E. Knight. It follows the military career of the character David Valentine in a post-apocalyptic world run by a race of vampires.
This book was really good. There were always twist and turns in the plot that keep you guessing. Those you thought to be evil were often good. Also, E.E. Knight used incredible visualization skills to bring the book to life. He wrote a few paragraphs at the beginning of every chapter to put the setting into focus.
The only problem I found with the story is the time differences between chapters. Years would often pass between chapters, and so a lot of possibilities to clarify things about the story were lost. I really don't care for this type of writing, because it can be very confusing. Other than that, there's not really much to complain about.
This book is written for mature audiences. There is a quite a bit of blood, so avoid this series if you're squeamish. There's also a lot of swearing, so it's not really appropriate for younger people.
Overall, I really enjoyed reading "The Way of the Wolf". It really brought up some interesting points about the future and what, though however unlikely it may be, it may be like.

    Undecided

This book left me with many mixed emotions. The episodic nature of the chapters made the narative seem fragmented and would completely take me out of the story. I love the concept but the execution was too off-kilter for me to say that I actually enjoyed the book. I am seriously debating whether to try another in the series to see if the clumsiness of "Way of the Wolf" is due to it being a debut novel or if the style is just that way. Definitely borrow this book before you buy it. (or get a cheap used copy)

If Brian Lumley and L. Ron hubbard had a kid, he would have written this.

I read this book in a single sitting. Take a bit of Battlefield Earth, a bit of the Necroscope, and toss in a little Outlaw Josey Wales, and you get David Valentine and the Vampire Earth.

My only complaint is that the books are too short. I would really like to spend a bit more time in the world for each novel. The series is very episodic, and you track David Valentine, the protagonist, through his journey from youth to man, and beyond.

Do you want to read something fun?

Knight does a wonderful job of writing something that you can just enjoy. I have gotten stumped(read that as bored) with too many books lately and this book didn't do that.

The setting is a post apocalyptic Earth which the author does a moderately good job of describing. Much of the history is left untold, but it's alright because this is not one of Stirling's books that spends as much time focused on world development as anything else. Let me just say that man is not at the top of the food chain and is truly in a pitched struggle for survival.

Now, the fun part is that things get going after about 75-100 pages of building to a more interesting segment. There are lots and lots of holes in the fabric of the story, don't let this deter you because the story really gets going and the action offsets the missing information.

Now, this is the first book in the series and the publisher should have asked from much better explanation of things. The author seems more focused on just giving you a fun story and less on building a fully depicted world. There is a vast panorama that begs to be explored and developed, but is only just touched on in this book.

I really, really like the book and the gradual transition of the main character from teen-ager to adult. This is a short book, so just pound through it and enjoy the ride!!!

I don't read Science Fiction, but I enjoyed this book.

I bought Way of the Wolf because I loved E.E.Knight's Age of Fire series so much. I dove in with a lot of trepidation, fully expecting to find it as boring and dry as I'd found other Sci-fi books. Instead, I discovered vampires magic and even shapeshifting gods! I am hooked. This is no ordinary Sci-fi!

If you dig science fiction, horror, or western adventure, you'll dig this book.
