Restoration of Berg's tallent
Restoration took the trilogy out with a bang. It picked up from where Revelation left off, and then brings it up another level. I was worried that the trilogy was going to continue downhill after my slight disappointment in Revelation, but it really turned out good. Definitely a trilogy to recommend to fantasy lovers out there that want something new and different.

This series went downhill with this book
I liked the first two books, but this one got on my nerves. The main character acts more like a battered housewife making excuses for her husband than some great warrior. Every other paragraph, the main character is making excuses for why people have a right to treat him like dirt instead of kicking some butt.
For the first two books, this was tolerable b/c he was a newly freed slave, but by book three, the (come abuse me) attitude of the main character has become worn out and intolerable.
The only reason I am giving this book a three star rating is out of respect for the first two. Please note: I only made it half way through this book, so maybe the 2nd half proves me wrong.

Restoration by Carol Berg
This is one of my favorite series, including the story about Valen, another book written by Carol Berg. Although I like the Transformation series, I was very disappointed and ..empty in the end. I prefer the Valen series. The end is..somehow so unnecessary. It feels like that Seyonne, who I think suffered and sacrificed most of all, ends up suffering and sacrificing all alone again! It was unnecessary! I can't believe he can't use his magic anymore! Why did he, of all characters, had to sacrifice so much? And the part about Seyonne becoming who he feared he will become...it ended so abruptly, and too short! Wasn't this part the main part of the plot, besides Aleksander's war? At least if he was the one to kill all human beings, he should have at least attempted it, with Aleksander ending everything...or it could have ended with Seyonne still with his powers by just remembering who he was as human! It ends with Seyonne nearly a cripple, and losing everything...his wife, sorcery, melyda...(towards the end of the book, I'm not sure if he could form wings or shapeshift again). Everything ends so sadly and disappointing for Seyonne, though he seems happy. I might be bit biased since it is the last book, but I hope it would not have ended so vaguely and Seyonne with such loss. My heart felt tight at the end of the book.

Rewarding and fitting conclusion
Restoration, Book Three of The Rai-Kirah proves to be a worthy conclusion to this momentous drama. Seyonne, the Ezzarian Warden of Souls, disgraced in his homeland now seeks his young son, abandoned by his mother at birth. His search brings him into contact with a band of outlaws working against Aleksander's Empire, an Empire which itself is about to outlaw Aleksander.
Seyonne finds himself again aiding Aleksander, this time to resort him to his rightful place.
He struggles to understand the course of events and in the process he comes to learn much more about the demon world and the history of his people the Ezzarians, and nothing perhaps is as it seems. As Seyonne's understanding grows so does his power, but this brings new dangers that will affect the demons and threaten him and the world of humans; Seyonne has to make difficult some decisions.
Restoration is a gripping conclusion to The Rai-Kirah trilogy where we follow Seyonne's adventures in two separate worlds, and are constantly amazed at the imaginative outworking of events. It is a story full of drama, with numerous confrontations and battles involving magical powers, beset by subterfuge and betrayal, but where determination, compassion, love and loyalty overcome- not to be missed.

Wonderful End
Definitely ends the trilogy well. Everything comes together, in one way or another. The characters are realistic and heart-wrenching. A beautiful ending to a beautiful trilogy.
Highly recommended.
