Review of Demons Are Forever: Confessions of a Demon-Hunting Soccer Mom (Book 3)
- Exciting new escapades for the demon-hunting stay-at-home mom-from the USA Today bestselling author of Carpe Demon.
It isn't easy when your daughter's figured out that her mom's a demon hunter-and wants to grow up to be just like her. Or when you suspect your dead husband used the forces of darkness to filch the body of another human. And your living husband isn't the man you married anymore either.
Moreover, Kate's acquired a precious but deadly item that every demon within commuting distance wants. With husband woes playing havoc with her emotions, an ambitious teenage protŽgŽe at her heels, and hell to pay, this stay-at-home mom's putting in a lot of overtime.

Fun, Lighthearted Read
I loved this book!!! I did not know at the time that I read it that there were two other books before it. I'm going to have to get those two from the library because I am hooked on Julie Kenner. Well written, couldn't put the book down on the bus. I am 20 and thoroughly enjoyed the book! Kudos!!!!

Demon series is three titles strong and going...
Demons Are Forever is as entertaining as the previous title, "Carpe Demon" and "California Demon". Those two I picked up together on a whim at the bookstore. This time, I seeked the novel out. Kate is an fun kind of 'every woman' except that she is also a demon hunter. Her teenage daughter has joined up with her cast of amusing side characters. I'm not sure that having Kate's daugher discover her secrets this early was a great idea, nor I am sure I like the twist involving Allie's high school teacher. If the demon fighting scenes, and the family routines weren't so amusing, I would be hard pressed to give this book such a good review. (Plus I heart Eddie). I'm going to ride this series on to the next book Deje Demon and I can only hope Kenner leads us on to satisfying conclusions to the storylines she had opened here. I want to reiterate though that I do recommend this book.

Best in the series so far!

Meet Kate Conner. Wife to Stuart, currently running for San Diablo County Attorney, mother to active toddler, Timmy and typical teenager Allie, a Level Four Demon Hunter working for Forza Scura, volunteer at her church and PTA Mom. Back up. What was that? Level Four Demon Hunter?
As if being a busy wife and mom wasn't enough, Kate has come out of retirement to hunt demons. Well, what would you do if demon's started showing up in your would-be safe neighborhood?
In this third installment of the series, we see a deeper plot and the circumstances grow even more complicated without losing any of Julie Kenner's trademark humor and quick witted dialog. This novel can be read as a stand-alone, but beware of spoilers from here on out.
In DEMONS ARE FOREVER, Kate and Allie are coming to terms with Allie's recent kidnapping by demons (CALIFORNIA DEMONS) and the possibility that Kate's first love and Allie's father has returned in the body of Allie's beloved teacher, David Long. Eddie, Allie's would- be grandfather and retired demon hunter is feeling his oats, complicating Kate's life all the more. Kate's husband, Stuart is still blissfully unaware of his wife's nocturnal activities, no thanks to a demon showing up on a romantic night out on the town. And to cap it all off, there's a group of demons interrupting Timmy's play dates and bonking her best friend on the head whilst trying to free their long imprisoned leader of all that is unholy.
Adding to the mix is the fact that Kate has to come face to face with the fact that her deceased husband might not have been who she thought he was. You will go along for the ride as she discovers new details of his past and has doubts cast on what their relationship was and on which side he was working for.
Finally, now that Allie knows her mom's secret and the truth of demons living among them, she wants to learn to fight. And get her driver's license. Whichever fills her mother's heart with more fear is uncertain.
Julie Kenner doesn't disappoint in this latest Demon-Hunting Soccer Mom saga. She gives the reader plenty to chew on. The previous two books, CARPE DEMON and CALIFORNIA DEMON give a great foundation for all the action in DEMONS ARE FOREVER. Everything comes to a head and I was left deeply satisfied, yet still yearning for more. This series has become more than a fanciful romp wondering if Kate is anything like Buffy the Vampire Slayer all grown up with kids and a mini-van. It's developed into more intense entertainment as the story grows more complex. My favorite in the series so far, I'm hoping for more!

We loved it
This was well written, fast paced, even I didn't want to put it down. That's really saying something. We can not wait untill July 2008 for the new book to come out. We hopee she takes this series out more than 4 books.
