Horror books Review

The first few chapters of the story are great, but then the book takes a disastrous turn and it just continues to go downhill from there. You see the title creature is supposedly some kind of evil entity that can take control of creatures to have it do its bidding. Focusing on one creature, great idea, but having different ones (including a swarm of flies and a witch) in different places just doesn’t work. Its like the author had a few different ideas for a monster story and decided to just throw them all into one and the whole thing turned into a mess. Not only that, but it’s as if the author didn’t know how to end the story and the final confrontation is the absolute worst “climax” I have ever read. A shame, it had a good thing going with the lake monster concept and then any hope for a good book is obliterated.
