Dancing with the Moon is the first part of the “Dragon’s Tear Chronicle.” In this story, you’ll meet Amy Cavanaugh, an innocent, mentally retarded 13 year-old girl who wishes desperately to be a ballet dancer and “dance with the moon”. Amy has no idea that her loving grandmother is a vampire in hiding from other vampires keeking to destroy her as an abomination to their bloodline. Amy also doesn’t know that her “Grammy” owns a special artifact, the “Dragon’s Tear”, a tear shaped necklace supposedly containing the crystallized blood of an ancient vampire.
Strange things occur around Amy and her grandmother must find a way to rotect her mortal grandaughter by enlisting the help of two gyspy vampires. One of them is an old friend, a rogue named Moon.
When Amy is kidnapped by an elder vampire named Whitworth, in hopes of luring Amy’s grandmother to her destruction, it is up to Moon and his companion, Tsigane, to rescue Amy.
When Amy is rescued and Moon is offered the “Dragon’s Tear” as his reward, it is quickly found out that this necklace is no ordinary trinket or just some dusty old relic. When word spreads of the “Dragon’s Tear” and its many powers, Moon not only has to save Amy, but also save himself.
