Horror books Review
I keep waiting to get involved with the characters. I am more than 200 pages into the book and I have yet to meet a character I care about or with whom I can sympathize.
The action sequences are dull. There is no message. There is not substance.
I have never read a werewolf story before. I expected some horror aspects. There are none. I have read a lot of war stories: fiction and nonfiction. This book does nothing to show the horror or glory of war, the reasons wars are fought or arguments against fighting wars. The characters plod from scene to scene for no apparent reason.
This is my first McCammon book. I’ll give it another hundred pages to be fair, but this might be the first book II don’t finish. I won’t give up on McCammon. I’ll try another book but without the anticipation with which I approached this one.
I won’t rate it 1-star because the sentences are grammatical, punctuation is used according to contention and the words are spelled correctly.
I am disappointed.
