Plans were created to erect a 7 foot tall concrete monument to the goat-headed Baphomet back in January 2014. This was in response to the Oklahoma government allowing a monument of the Ten Commandments on the Capital’s steps that was defended by the First Amendment in 2009. Now The Satanic Temple has raised money to create their own monument outside of Oklahoma’s State Capital. The plans have been submitted and are still awaiting approval pending the results of the Ten Commandments monument first.
Satanic Temple spokesperson Lucien Greaves was asked what is the goal of the monument, he replied:
"The statue will serve as a beacon calling for compassion and empathy among all living creatures. The statue will also have a functional purpose as a chair where people of all ages may sit on the lap of Satan for inspiration and contemplation."
As you can see, Baphomet will have two small children at his sides and will sit under a pentagram. This monument will also be encased in bronze.
